Clover Moore MP was elected Lord Mayor of Sydney in March 2004. Clover Moore remains an Independent and has never belonged to any political party. As Lord Mayor she will talk about her plans for Sydney and the place of heritage.

For Over twenty years Clover Moore has been a strong advocate for inner city residents for over twenty years. She served six years as an Independent Councillor on Sydney City Council, one year on South Sydney Council and has been the Independent MP for Bligh since 1988.

She works to represent her constituents directly, providing an independent alternative to party politicians. She is quoted as saying: "I am a strong voice provoking competition which gets action."

Clover Moore is committed to a better environment and living amenity and to protecting public land and foreshores. She promotes progressive solutions to city problems and political reform.

Before her political career she used to work as a teacher in Sydney and overseas, after obtaining an Arts Degree and Diploma of Education at Sydney University.
