Macquarie Bank Art Collection and SH Ervin Gallery Exclusive Joint Viewing
Please join National Trust President John Niland, Deputy President Zeny Edwards and Executive Director Tina Jackson for a very special evening on Thursday 20th September, 6.30pm.
Guests are invited to start the evening at No. 1 Martin Place, the beautiful and historic old GPO building. The Macquarie Bank Art Collection has developed over the past 20 years into one of Australia’s most exciting corporate art collections. The evening will be hosted by the Art Collection’s Chairman, Julian Beaumont and its Director, Liz Morell. Following a short talk, guests will be able to tour this extensive and beautiful art collection, enjoying canapés and wine.
Artists with work on display include Lionel Bawden, Gordon Bennett, Tom Carment, Euan Macleod, Matthew Johnson, Philip Hunter, Bill Henson, Elisabeth Cummings, William Robinson, Susan Norrie and Gloria Petyarre.
After the tour concludes, guests will be taken back to the National Trust SH Ervin Gallery by bus for a private viewing of Rex Dupain’s The Colour of Bondi. Internationally recognized photographer Rex Dupain has captured every aspect of the famous Bondi strip in these iconic photographs that seem to define the quintessential Australian lifestyle.
Josef Lebovic, Director of the Josef Lebovic Gallery, will be in attendance and available to speak with guests about the works as they tour the collection. Dinner will be served for guests at the SH Ervin Gallery.
The cost of the evening is $60.
Please note that the Macquarie Bank Art Collection viewing is complimentary, all costs relate to the National Trust’s catering and other expenses.

Rex Dupain - The Colour of Bondi
At an unprecedented event at 6pm on Monday 24 September, the whole collection of work from The Colour of Bondi exhibition will be auctioned by fine art auctioneers, Bonhams & Goodman, after the close of the show. All 47 colour photographs will be sold with proceeds donated to the National Trust of Australia (NSW) & S.H. Ervin Gallery. Guests attending the exclusive Macquarie Bank Art Exhibition and Rex Dupain viewing will have the chance to pre-bid on any of the photographs in the exhibition. |
