A talent to harp on
Well-known Irish harpist/singer Claire Roche has strung together another musical tour of Australia that will see her play at four National Trust properties in October 2008.
Her Veil between Two Worlds tour will include popular Irish ballads and dance tunes, songs sung in Gaelic, poems by W.B. Yeats set to music and Roche’s original songs for harp.
Claire has performed regularly at concerts in Ireland, the UK, Australia and the United States. In the USA, she has performed at the Florida Folk Festival and opened concerts for The Chieftains and The Fureys.
Claire studied Irish harp at Sion Hill Convent, Dublin and the concert harp at Dublin’s College of Music. Her CDs include Dancing in the Wind, Out of the Ordinary, The Lilt of the Banshee and An Irish Wedding Ceremony.
Concerts will be held at the following venues:
Friday 3 October and Saturday 4 October, 7.30 pm, candlelit concerts and supper.
Old Government House, Parramatta.
