Our Place Stories

The theme for the 2008 Festival is ‘Our Place’. We would like to hear your stories of your special place. We are looking for stories and photos of you in your favourite places. Your place could be historical or it could be environmental. It could be a place special to your town or your suburb. It is a home, a building, a club, a street, a business, a trade, a playing field, a theatre, a museum, an art gallery, a restaurant, an historic site, a future place, a garden, a shopping mall, a stadium, a shire, a region, the state, our country, our place in the world.

We want to hear your stories about the places and events that have shaped you and how you see yourself as part of Australia. We’d like to hear about the people whose lives and contributions have shaped your place - individual and collective stories – and the history and ongoing activities of your organisation, industry or community.

These stories will be placed in a special online blog for people to read as part of the Festival. The best entries will be printed in the National Trust magazine and in the e-newsletter.

Please send your photos and stories to Kylie Westaway at kwestaway@nsw.nationaltrust.org.au with the subject heading “Our Place Story”. You can also mail them to:
