National Trust Heritage Festival 2009

Primary and Secondary National Trust Schools Competition 2009

This annual competition inspires students to celebrate their local heritage by reflecting the 2009 Festival theme of ‘Our Place in Space’. The competition is open across one subject area – Science and Technology and across stages 2, 3, 4 and 5. The competition criterion encourages students to look at Space, how the planets interact and Australia’s involvement in the History of Astronomical discoveries.

The competition guidelines are put together by the National Trust in association with the NSW Department of Education and Training, to ensure all criteria are in line with the 2009 syllabus.

This is a term two competition with entries due on Thursday 9 July 2009. The overall winner in each category will receive $500 for their school, as well as individual prizes. Comprised of education experts, the judging panel will join special guest personalities for the prize giving ceremony to be held in August 2009 at the National Trust Centre, Observatory Hill, Sydney.

More information including entry forms will be available for download early 2009. If you would like to be added to the mailing list please email your name, school and address details to ngross@nsw.nationaltrust.org.au.
