National Trust Heritage Festival 2008

National Trust Schools Competition 2008

This annual competition inspires students to celebrate their local heritage by reflecting the 2008 Festival theme of ‘Our Place’. Open across four subject areas – Human Society and its Environment, History, Geography and Art – the competition criteria encourages students to explore their suburbs and towns, and get to know the people and places that make up their area and Australia, and what makes them unique.

The competition guidelines are put together by the National Trust in association with the NSW Department of Education and Training, to ensure all criteria are in line with the 2008 syllabus.

This is a term one competition with entries due Friday 9 May 2008. The overall winner in each category will receive $500 for their school, as well as individual prizes. Comprised of education experts, the judging panel will join special guest personalities for the prize giving ceremony to be held in June 2008 at the National Trust Centre, Observatory Hill, Sydney.
