National Trust HERITAGE@RISK Gala Dinner

The launch of the Trust’s HERITAGE@RISK Appeal at the Charity Gala Dinner at Government House on Wednesday, 21 May raised a total of $61,000.
Trust Patron, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of New South Wales, hosted the dinner in the beautiful ballroom of Government House.
Ninety seven guests enjoyed the ambience of the elegant venue, delicious food and wine and a Chopin recital by the talented and lovely concert pianist Ambre Hammond, Youth Ambassador of the National Trust. Ray Martin was an excellent MC and set the lively tone for the evening. Tim Goodman, of Bonhams & Goodman, conducted the auction containing a number of amazing items including a painting by the late Tony Tuckson.
Heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful guests and supporters on the night and a special thanks to Ray and to all the generous guests who made pledges to the Trust, participated in the auction and bought raffle tickets. Our sponsors donated goods and services ensuring the success of the evening’s fundraising appeal.
A special presentation was made to Mr Richard Johnson, Architect of Johnson Pilton Walker Pty Ltd, who received the National Trust of Australia Award of Excellence in the Built Environment. His tireless work on the Sydney Opera House drew a citation from Jørn and Jan Utzon who are working closely with Richard on the project.
Finally, we are very grateful to Dr Zeny Edwards, President, whose creative ideas and hard work ensured the evening’s success.
We would like to thank our supporters for the night:
