Tribal loyalties and media interests – are they compatible in Australian sport?

Nick Pappas, Chairman of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, will host the next National Trust Corporate Breakfast on October 1st 2008.

Nick will look at the changes in rugby league in Australia from regionally based contests with strong community backing, to the new model where individual clubs and even the competition is held in private ownership. 
In what promises to be a controversial discussion, he will address the issue of media ownership of sporting competitions – asking does it create an unfair advantage?
