Everglades is the epitome of alfresco, with the option of marquees or the Art Deco House interiors.

Everglades is like a beautifully crafted chest of stepped drawers with secret compartments and indeed was conceived as the slow reveal of a succession of enclosed garden levels. Designed by Paul Sorensen, who had studied in Denmark and worked in Europe before emigrating to Australia, Everglades is a sublime garden perfectly wedded to the spectacular beauty of the site. Today, sheets of bluebells, winter roses and great banks of azaleas drift across the slopes in total unity with a mixed tree canopy of indigenous and exotic species. Traverse the Cherry, Lilac and Agapanthus terraces, stroll down the steps of the garden theatre, and the wisteria walk, explore the Art Deco House and Lars Knudsen art gallery, and finally discover the lookout and grotto pool which will take your breath away. Everglades creates intimate personal spaces and scenic vistas perfect for a vast array of differing events.

Special Considerations: Everglades has the potential to host a myriad of events from open air performances on a purpose built Garden Theatre stage overlooking the Jamieson Valley to weddings, cocktail parties, festivals and small gatherings. Situated in Leura's prime residential area, application must be made on an individual basis to the Blue Mountains City Council for any large scale event. Onsite parking for bridal vehicles only. Offstreet parking in Everglades Avenue. Chamber music or acoustic instrument preferred. For disabled access, the Studio Terrace can be most easily accessed. Evening functions can be discussed with the manager. A walk-in coolroom is available for storage of food and beverages. Local businesses cater for a range of event hire equipment, catering, flowers, and other party needs. Marquees (other than permanent) and all hire equipment to be supplied.

Open to the public daily from 10am - 4pm and until 5pm in Spring and Summer.
