The Lindesay Christmas Gift Fair, organised each year by the National Trust Women’s Committee, is on from Thursday, November 15th until Saturday, November 17th, 2007.
This highly successful Fair is now in its sixth year and provides the opportunity to choose and buy unique gifts for someone special for Christmas as well as the opportunity to visit historic Lindesay and its gardens. Lindesay is only open for public inspection a few times each year.
Within the three storey villa, visitors can inspect the flagged-stone basement kitchen which will be the venue of the Gourmet Food Cellar with its wonderful produce of fine biscuits, jams, chutneys, mayonnaises, spices and oils as well as Christmas puddings.
The chandeliered dining room will have its table set for a Christmas feast and the adjoining music room and library will house an eclectic array of stalls. From there one can walk out onto the flagged-stone terrace and into the garden to view further stalls under the cover of a marquee.
Lunch and refreshments will be available in the Courtyard Café with tables spilling out onto the circular drive. There will also be wine tastings throughout the day.
Opening hours for the house and Fair are between 10am-4pm from Thursday 15th to Saturday 17th November 2007.
